Equestrians place seventh in opening meet

Tecumseh’s equestrian team placed seventh out of seven competing level C teams at the Lenawee County Fair Grounds on September 7 in its first meet of the season. The team has three returning riders, Jillian Rebottaro, Brianna Tramelli and Kayla Wallich, and two new members, Matt Ginter and Savanna Maynard. “It was a hard start at our first meet with our allowance of 24 slots (classes) per team,” said Tecumseh coach Diane Kimmitt. “We used our top riders and horses to fill their individual top classes. Our Team has some great talent. It just has to all come together just right. Hoping for some big improvements at the next two meets.”Ginter placed seventh in saddle seat fitting and showing and was eighth in the two-person relay with Tramelli.Rebottaro was first in western reining, sixth in hunt seat fitting and showing, seventh in western fitting and showing and eighth in hunt seat equitation.Wallich was first in saddle seat fitting and showing, fifth in western equitation and sixth in the two-person relay with RebottaroTramelli was second in barrels, fifth in keyhole and saddle seat fitting and showing, seventh in Western Equitation and eighth in trail.
