Frances Weigle Kuthe Westfall

Frances Weigle Kuthe Westfall, age 89 of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by friends and family while under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born on November 4, 1926 in Fulton, Mo., the daughter of Otis and Grace Weigle. Frances graduated from William Woods College in Fulton, Mo.

Frances was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Ann Arbor, Mich. In her third career she owned a small business where she received many honors and raised award-winning Norwich Terriers. She was a member of the Terrier Club of Michigan and was on the board of directors for The Norwich Terrier Club of America. Frances enjoyed sewing, gardening, collecting teddy bears, coffee and chocolate in all its forms and golfing and traveling. She delighted in taking care of her puppies, being both a grandmother and great-grandmother and being a loyal friend. Frances was a kind, elegant, and hard-working woman who will be remember by all the people she touched and loved.

Frances is survived by her step-son, John David (Pamela) Kuthe of Silver City, N.M., step-daughter; Karen (John) Gibson of Atlanta, Mich., Grandchildren; Valerie S. Kuthe of Salem, Mass., Charles B. (Erin) Kuthe of Mansfield, Texas, Daniel (Caitlin McDonough) Kuthe of Madison, Conn., three great-grandchildren; Naomi Kuthe, Hannah Kuthe and Gus Kuthe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Charles Kuthe and Tomas Westfall.

Memorial service for Frances will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
