Frederick W. Oberlin

Frederick W. Oberlin, 90, of Tecumseh, passed away April 7, 2014 at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. He was born on September 27, 1923 in Adrian, the son of Hurley and Rose (Dow) Oberlin. In 1943 he married Ardath Terrill and she preceded him in death in 2009.Fred proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II and later worked for 44 years at Tecumseh Products, retiring in 1986. He also formed the Lenawee County Officials Association and enjoyed refereeing college and high school football and basketball. Fred was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh.Fred is survived by his sons John Oberlin of Elsie, and Jim (Nancy) Oberlin of Britton; daughter Linda (Gene) Stock of Temperance; grandsons Chad (Jessica) and Kevin (Dana) Stock; three great grandchildren Makenzie, Cade and Piper Stock; and brother Roger (Mary) of Grove City, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ardath and brothers Jim, Hurley and Dale.According to Fred’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh’s Building Fund. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
