George H. Elliott
George H. Elliott, age 99, of Tecumseh, passed away June 23, 2015. George was born May 8, 1916, in Tecumseh, Mich., the son of Floyd and Marian (Hall) Elliott. On October 25, 1963, he married Wilma Meeks. He retired after working over 34 years for Ford Motor Company as an electrician. He also had his own electrical business and did a lot of work for many Tecumseh residents and businesses. George was a member of the IBEW, Tecumseh volunteer fire department and the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge.In addition to his wife Wilma, George is survived by his children, Gary (Diane) Elliott, Gail (Conley) Thacker and Howard (Flora) Meeks; grandchildren, Homer (Darla) Meeks, Pam (Keith) Britt, Jamey (Richard) Ware, Jacquelyn Wright, Michael (Leslie) Elliott and Lauren (Josh) Stine and great grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, Ashley, Carly, Jacob, Zoe, Gavin and Owen.He was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, Justin, and his first wife, Donna.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Richard Mortimer officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, at the funeral home with a Masonic Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
