Gladwin Alfred Spohr

Gladwin Alfred Spohr, age 87, of Britton, passed away March 20, 2016.

He was born August 28, 1928 in Britton, Mich., the son of Alfred and Gladys (Ousterhout) Spohr.

Gladwin was a graduate of Britton-Macon High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville Plant.

Gladwin was also self-employed as a farmer. His love of woodworking is well known throughout the community. Gladwin is survived by his children, Diane, Jenise, Kurt, Chris, and Larry; stepchildren, Ron, Kathy, Mary, Pat, Don, Deb; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ellen, stepsons, Mike and Chuck, and son-in-law, Dale.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  According to his wishes, burial will be private at Ridgeway Cemetery.
