Gladys M. Shelhart
Gladys M. Shelhart, age 99, of Tecumseh, passed away Sept. 1, 2012.Gladys was born April 22, 1913 in Adrian, Michigan, the daughter of Walter and Daisy (Goodwin) Ostrum.She married Kenneth Shelhart and he preceded her in death. For many years she ran an Adult Foster Care in her own home, retiring when she was 81.Gladys belonged to the Lower Light Church in Tecumseh.Gladys is survived by her sister, Dorothy Creger of Tecumseh; granddaughter, Laurie Bosquez of Adrian; great grandchildren, Derrick, Danielle, Desiree, Michael and Shanice; six great-great grandchildren and many more angels in her extended family.In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Wilma Short; granddaughter, Julie Zettel; grandson, Joseph Sharp and seven siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Phillip Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.Visitation was from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
