Gonzales family sends gratitude for community’s support
To the Editor,We would like to express our utmost gratitude to our hometown community. What an outpouring of love, compassion, and support shown to us during a very sad time of our lives. There are absolutely no words that can be used to express what we long to communicate to everyone. Our community went above and beyond what we could ever dream or imagine. There is no way possible we can name every individual, organization, and/or business without missing someone. However, what we want you all to know is, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, we really, truly, appreciate all that everyone did, does, and will continue to do for us.These things did not go unnoticed. From the smallest of things, such as a hug when seeing us at Farmer’s Market to donating chairs for the Celebration of Life service. We say thank you. It means the world to us that there will be continued support over the years with annual events like the 5k Run for Dakota and Curt Scholarship and the Men’s Gonzales/Orlowski Memorial Softball tournament. These events will be able to continue to pay it forward, which is a testament to how these exemplary young men lived their lives. We hope and pray that everyone would reconsider how they view drinking and driving, two young lives were taken from them and another has had her life totally changed due to someone making a poor choice. As a motto of Dakota’s university, we ask that you too “build a life that matters.”Again, we thank you and God bless you all. The family of Dakota GonzalesVince, Michelle, and Nick
