Gregory Randolph Hopkins

Gregory Randolph Hopkins, age 60, of Tecumseh, passed away on May 6, 2019, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor.

He was born on May 21, 1958, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Rodney and Ardeth (Valentine) Hopkins. On July 18, 1986, he married Laura Marie Faber at Greenfield Village, and she survives. He received his B.S. from Detroit College of Business and worked at the University of Michigan Health System in the IT Department. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a Cub Master in the Cub Scouts and Assistant Scout Master in the Boy Scouts. Gregory enjoyed collecting rocks, gems, minerals and coins. He loved going to Disney World with his family. His sisters called him Superman.

Gregory is survived by his wife, Laura Marie Hopkins, sons, Adam (Miranda) Hopkins, Nickolas Hopkins, Eric (Nicole) Hopkins, Nathaniel Hopkins, sisters, Pamela Rae (Zeb) Smith, Patricia (Ed) Marecki, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.  

A memorial service for Gregory will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the Anderson- Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Joel Sarrault officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Cremation to follow.
