Harrison McCrea Gonser
Harrison “Mac” Gonser, age 85, of Tecumseh, passed away March 17, 2017 at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home. He was born January 21, 1932 in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., the son of Harrison and Grace (McCrea) Gonser. On December 19, 1953 he married Connie Gross and she survives.
Mac was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Tecumseh Public Schools, serving as a middle school science teacher and driver’s education teacher for many years. Mac served the community as a member of the Tecumseh Planning Commission. He was a founding member of the Lenco Credit Union and served on their board until recently. In addition to his wife Connie, Mac is survived by daughter, Nancy Gonser Mettlach; two brothers, Jerry (Pat) and Richard (Pauline) and brother-in-law, Bob (Mary) Gross.
He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Bill Mettlach.
Graveside services will take place 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, with Military Honors performed by the United States Army. Mac would then like to invite you to a visitation from 1:30-4 p.m. also held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, where you can have a cup of coffee and refreshments on him.
