Harry H. Hutchison, VIII

Harry H. Hutchison, VIII age 63, of Tecumseh, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at home with his loving family at his side and under the gentle care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born July 19, 1950 in Flint, Mich., the son of Harry H. and Marie F. Lee and stepparents Athlene Hutchison and Don Weeks. On April 15, 1972 he married Connie D. Massengill and she survives.Harry was a member of Bethesda Bible Church in Ypsilanti Township. He worked as a Building Inspector for Raisin Township, the city and township of Ypsilanti, was the Public Works Department and Building Department Supervisor for Ypsilanti, and also their Building Official. Harry also taught building instruction codes at Washtenaw Community College. Harry had many interests. He was an accomplished singer and craftsman. He enjoyed his work, construction, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Recently Harry had taken up canvas painting. Harry is survived by his wife, Connie; sons Harry (Ann) Hutchison, IX of Tecumseh and Steve (Kristin Ratliff) Hutchison of Tipton; daughter Lisa (Jason) Breitner of Dundee; brother Jeff (Linda) Hutchison of Monroe; sister Sandy (Chuck) Kernen of Shelbyville, Tenn.; long time friends Dick and Sharon Devine of Canton; and five grandchildren Jorden Ratliff, Kaleb Breitner, Nathan Hutchison, Kristopher Breitner, and Harry H. Hutchison, X. He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation was Friday, March 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. The funeral service was held Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at the Bethesda Bible Church, 1800 S. Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Mich., Visitation also took place at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial was at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.
