Helen M. Beasley

Helen M. Beasley, age 91 of Tecumseh, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Tecumseh Place I under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born on March 15, 1921 in Raisin Twp, Mich., the daughter of Otto and Florence (Schaber) Teske. She married Roy J. Beasley on May 17, 1946 and sadly, he preceded her in death on September 21, 2002.Helen was a charter member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a 1939 graduate of Tecumseh High School. She had worked at Tecumseh Products for the Department of the Navy during WWII. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Helen is survived by her son Douglas (Cheryl) Beasley of Tecumseh; her daughter Jane (Jim) Goodman of Davenport, Wash.; her sister Shirley (Richard) Whelan of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Suzanne (Dan) Richardson, Craig Beasley, Michael and Scott Goodman; a niece, Janis Whelan; and six great grandchildren, Jacob, Danielle Richardson, Zachary, Freddie, Carson, and Colin Goodman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Hall, and a nephew, Larry Whelan.Visitation for Helen will be held on Monday, July 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Philip Krieger officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
