Herbert Ray Sturtevant
Herbert Ray Sturtevant, age 91, of Tecumseh, passed away November 10, 2016. Herbert was born April 18, 1925 in North Adams, Mich., the son of Homer and Mabel (Adams) Sturtevant.
On November 10, 1951 he married Rhettta L. Seely in Hillsdale, Michigan and she preceded him in death October 19, 2006. He was a lifelong Tecumseh resident and retired from Tecumseh Products after many years of service. Herbert served his country in the United States Marines during World War II.
Herbert is survived by two sons, Gregory of Tecumseh and Stephen (Cindy) of Woodstock, Georgia; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Rhetta, he was preceded in death by a son, Adam; parents; brothers, Harold Sturtevant, Reo VanCamp and Max VanCamp and sisters, Esther Smith and Ruth Woltz.
Graveside services were held on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh with Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating.
Burial followed in Brookside Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
