Hope coordinator thanks mentors, says program at TPS expanding next year

To the Editor,The Tecumseh Public Schools HOPE program would like to thank all of its volunteers for their dedication and commitment to our students. More than 70 mentors were recently recognized at an annual year end brunch. Several businesses and organizations were also acknowledged for allowing employees to volunteer in the HOPE program. It is wonderful to have the community support from our volunteers to work with all students at TPS. Next year, the HOPE program will be expanding services. We are looking to differentiate how we deliver services to meet the needs of our students. Some examples where volunteers can give of their time include: enrichment groups, kindergarten reading groups, individual reading time, basic math skills support, vocabulary groups, motor moms and dads, preschool helper or a classroom helper. Communities In Schools of the Tecumseh Area (CISTA) is a wonderful partner who utilizes the expertise of Tecumseh volunteers to support their programs including the rolling reader program, lunch buddies and sixth grade pen pals.We would love to have you join our team! If you have a talent or skill that you are passionate about and would like to share your talents with our fantastic students, please contact Tecumseh Public Schools at 424.7318.
