Indians beat Ypsi', plan for ‘Teaming Up For A Cure’

Tecumseh’s varsity volleyball team defeated Ypsilanti in just three sets on Tuesday, Sept. 25 while on the road.The Indians beat the Phoenix 25-14, 25-16, 25-21 to improve to 17-10-2 overall and 6-2 in the Southeastern Conference.Tecumseh’s leaders included: Jordyn Norkey (13 kills, 14 digs, served 15-15 with 10 points, 5 aces); Hannah Galloway (11 kills, 2 blocks); Jessica Benedict (34 assists, served 14-14 with 11 points, 4 aces); Laurie Wolf (8 kills, 8 digs) and Samantha Root (8 digs).The Indians are preparing for their annual Breast Cancer Awareness event titled, Teaming Up For A Cure on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Tecumseh faces Adrian in the annual competition, hosted by the Indians this year. The junior varsity contest begins at 5:30 p.m. while the varsity match follows at approximately 7 p.m.Dinner is being sponsored by Sal’s Italian Restaurant from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., which includes Mostaccioli, salad, breadstick, and a drink for $6.Fundraising events include a Silent Auction, Bake Sale, Raffles, Survivor Flowers with games and prizes.The Indians will be selling special T-Shirts for the event for $15. Those wearing one of the T-shirts or purchasing one at the game are admitted for free.
