Indians first at Gibralter Carlson tourney

Tecumseh’s varsity wrestling team placed first at the Gibraltar Carlson Team Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 12 with an undefeated 5-0 record.The Indians defeated Fenton (69-4), New Boston Huron (71-9), Dearborn Fordson (54-22), Gibraltar Carlson (52-18), and Riverview (54-18). Tecumseh had seven wrestlers finish 5-0 including Ricky Azelton (103): Jake Hilton (119), Luke Liuzzi (125), Wyatt Cadmus (130), Landon Pelham (189), Preston Pelham (215) and Joe Rebottaro (285). Tecumseh improved to 19-5 on the season with the wins. The Indians also had a B-Team go 3-2 and finish fifth overall. Kody McCrate paced the B team with a 5-0 record at 215 pounds.Tecumseh went 1-1 on Wednesday, Jan. 9, scoring a 78-6 win over Ann Arbor Huron but falling 40-30 to Chelsea.Tecumseh senior Luke Liuzzi went 2-0 at the event and recorded his 100th career victory.The Indians host their annual Phillip Jaimes Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Jan 19, beginning at 9 a.m.
