Indians improve to 13-3 with sweeps over Lincoln, Onsted, Bedford

Tecumseh’s varsity softball team swept visiting Bedford on Monday, May 6, in a doubleheader with wins of 11-1 and 6-1.

The Indians beat the Kicking Mules in just six innings in game one with Emily Maves earning the pitching win. She went the distance for the win, allowing just three hits while striking out six and walking none.

Katie Martin and Claire Burnett had three hits and 2 RBI each for the Indians.
McKenzie Rowe and Kylie Hill both added two hits for Tecumseh.

Tecumseh won game two 6-1 in seven innings with Kayla Kormos pitching six innings and giving up five hits.

Kelsey Rendell and Kelsea Kaliszuk were both 2-for-4 with two RBI each for Tecumseh.

McKenzie Rowe and Mattie Wright each added two hits.

Tecumseh improved to 13-3 overall and 7-2 in the Southeastern Conference White Division.

Tecumseh swept visiting Lincoln on Thursday, May 2, with wins of 3-1 and 4-1.

Maves (5-2) pitched seven innings for the pitching win in game one. She gave up three hits while striking out 11.

Wright doubled and Rowe recorded a RBI single and a two run home run by Rendell capped a big third inning for Tecumseh.

Kormos (5-1) went the entire distance and struck out eight to earn the pitching win in game two.

Wright (triple), Kaliszuk (triple), and Morgan Monahan (double) recorded two hits each to lead Tecumseh’s offense.

Tecumseh played at Onsted on Wednesday, May 1, and swept the Wildcats with a pair of wins.

The Indians won the first game 2-1 with Maves (4-2) pitching a one-hit a complete game with 12 strikeouts.

Tecumseh was limited to three hits with the key hit being a sixth inning triple by Monahan to score Kaliszuk for a 2-1 lead. Hill had a single to lead off the game and eventually scored on an Onsted error. Martin also recorded a hit for Tecumseh.

Tecumseh won the second game 7-1 with Kormos (4-1) pitching a complete game and allowing five hits.

Tecumseh recorded 18 hits with Hill going 4-for-4 with three RBI. Kaliszuk went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Indians while Rendell, Kelsey Smith, and Claire Burnett added two hits each.

Tecumseh also swept Ann Arbor Huron in a doubleheader on Monday, April 29.

Tecumseh won 12-1 in just five innings in game one with Maves pitching the win.

McKenzie Rowe, Kylie Hill, and Karly Smith led the Indians’ offense with two hits each.

Tecumseh won the second game 19-0 in just five innings with Kelsey Smith earning the pitching win.

Kaliszuk went 3-for-4 with two RBI while Rendell went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Rowe, Hill, Maves, Kayla Wild and Karly Smith each added two hits.
