He crushed a two run home run in game one and hit a walk off single in game two.“Our pitchers were very good tonight,” said Tecumseh coach Tom Bullinger. “Phil got out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning of game one and never really got in trouble again.”Mukensturm pitched the complete game and gave up five hits while striking out seven and walking three.“Alex Mukensturm threw his first complete game as a varsity player and battled,” Bullinger added. “He really wanted this game and was a work horse tonight.” The coach commented that Jeremy Hatfield made a great play at first base to keep a run off the board in the second game and it helped the Indians find a way to log another win.“It was a fun game where every pitch mattered and it was great to see Muk step up,” said Bullinger. In the first game Nick Cowen went 2-for-3 with a double while Carey was 1-for-3.Ben Vannatter went 2-for-4 in the second game to lead Tecumseh’s offense.Tecumseh lost 5-3 in a one game against Lumen Christi on Tuesday, April 22.Evan Eldred was the last of a string of Indian pitchers and recorded the loss. Tecumseh gave up four runs, three unearned, in the top of the sixth. “We took momentum, but gave it right back to them,” Bullinger said. “We have to do a better job of competing and learn from our mistakes today.”Tecumseh is now 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the Southeastern Conference.
