Isadore M. Koffron

Isadore M. Koffron, age 102, of Tecumseh, passed away September 15, 2013.Isadore was born March 3, 1911 in Leslie, MI the daughter of James and Lena (Pond) Hill. When she was 8 years old, she moved to Jackson, MI where she finished her education.On July 26, 1930, she married Winthrop N. Winfield. They had two daughters, Diane J. and Carole S. Winfield. Winthrop passed away on March 20, 1965 after a bout with cancer. On June 12, 1971, she married Robert J. Koffron. After they both retired, they traveled and spent their winters in Florida. In 1987 they moved there permanently. Robert passed away June 7, 2001.In 2006, Isadore moved back to Tecumseh and took up residence in the newly built Cambrian Assisted Living Facility where she spent the remainder of her life.Isadore was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Tecumseh Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Diane "Dee" (Charles "Jerry") O'Brien of Tipton, and Carole (Lawrence) Viles III, stepson, Robert (Paulette) Koffron; 15 grandchildren, Calleen (George) Troyer, Maureen (Shawn) Dalton, Michael (Amy) O'Brien, Patrick (Michele) O'Brien, Timothy (Christie) O'Brien, Trisha Blumerick, Traci Blumerick, Todd (Wendy) Blumerick, Lawrence (Nichole) Viles IV, Amy (Donald) Houghtalin, Robert Andrew Koffron, Sunday (James) Taylor, Ross (Michele) Jacobs, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Jacobs, and Michael (Saraphoena) Koffron, 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P. M. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. and one hour preceding the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cambrian Assisted Living or Tecumseh United Methodist Church.Messages to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
