James Douglas Barnett

James Douglas Barnett, age, 72, of Tecumseh, died Tuesday, Jan 29, 2013, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born on August 3, 1940, in Adrian to Woodard and Ruth (Potts) Barnett. Jim served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On July 18, 1959, he married Ella Fuller in Baldwin, Kansas and she survives. Jim was employed by Associated Spring in Saline for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Ridgeway Church of the Nazarene, the Bits and Pieces Radio Control Club, and a former member of the Pittsfield Volunteer Fire Department. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flying radio control airplanes. He also held a private pilots license with the Calhoun Airport.In addition to his wife, Ella, he is survived by two sons, Mark D. (Candy) Barnett of Miss., and Mike Barnett of Orange, Texas; a brother, Lewis Barnett, of Kan; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Jessica Barnett; a grandson, Toby James Barnett; and a great-granddaughter, Faith Barnett.Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Rev. Ray Hansen officiating. Burial was in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation was held on Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralervices.com.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
