James A. Furgason

James (Jim) A. Furgason, age 78, of Clinton, passed away on June 21, 2019. He was born on July 26, 1940, the son of Leonard and Leora (Gregg) Furgason. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1958.  Jim married Connie Dinius on September 26, 1964, in Tecumseh, Mich. and she survives. 

Jim was a lifelong resident of the Tecumseh/Clinton area. He worked for Ford Motor Company at the Rawsonville plant for 40 years and was a member of UAW Local 898. He retired in 2004 as an Acceptance and Repair Inspector. Jim loved spending time with his family, attending his grandsons’ activities, farming, vegetable gardening, small engine repair, and could fix anything. He also enjoyed visiting resale shops throughout the area.  Jim was always available to help others and was a good friend to many.

In addition to his wife Connie, he is survived by his two daughters: Michelle (Gary) Thornton of Saline, Mich., and Cindy (Greg) Norris of Peoria, Ariz.  Four grandsons: Justin Humphres of San Diego, Calif.; Austin Thornton of Saline, Mich.; and Carter Norris and Caleb Norris of Peoria, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 2-4 p.m., at the Handler Funeral Home in Tecumseh, Mich. Condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
