James Lee Anderson

James Lee Anderson, age 89, of Tecumseh died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at ProMedica Bixby Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born June 7, 1923 in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to Harold and Lillian (Simonsen) Anderson. On June 4, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minn., he married Emily Wheeler. Emily preceded him in death on November 15, 2012. Jim attended Cal Poly and graduated from the University of California-Berkley with a degree in Economics. He retired in July of 1988 from United Bank & Trust as Trust Officer and Vice President. Jim served his country during WWII as a pilot in the U.S. Navy. He was an active member of Tecumseh Kiwanis Club and the Civic Auditorium. Jim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh for many years and currently was a member of Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh. Jim is survived by one daughter, Kimberly M. (Paul Martin) Anderson of Alexandria, Virginia; two sons, James L. Anderson, Jr. of River Falls, Wis., and Jeffrey W. (Kathleen) Anderson of Onsted; one brother, Harold “Bud” (Rita) Anderson of Morro Bay, Calif; seven grandchildren, James, Emily, Kennice, Kelsey and Kristen Anderson, Tricia Martin-Owen and Daniel Martin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.A celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Tecumseh Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Mortimer and David Doseff officiating. Private burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Anderson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Cambrian Assisted Living.
