James V. Darish

James V. Darish, age 71, of Tecumseh, died on Friday, December 20, 2013, at the Hospice of Lenawee’s Hospice Home. He was born November 5, 1942, in Adrian to William and Helen (Budwit) Darish. On June 15, 1963, he married Kay Coleman in Blissfield and she survives. Jim had been a farmer all of his life. He earned two associates degrees, in Agriculture and Computer Applications. James was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting and working with computers. He was a member of St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish. James earned the title of being the First American Farmer in Lenawee County in 1960.In addition to his wife, Kay, he is survived by two sons, Scott Alan (Stephanie) Darish of Fenton, Mich., and Keith Robert Darish and his fiancé, Ronda, of Ann Arbor; and grandchildren, Allison, Rebecca, Kimberly and William Darish and Keri and Nicole Darish; and a brother and best friend, Dave Darish of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Darish.The Funeral Liturgy was offered at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish with Fr. Tom Helfrich and Fr. Shaun Lowery presiding. Burial was in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.Visitation was held on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Visitation was also held at St. Mary of Good Counsel from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A Family Prayer Service was held at 10:45 a.m., followed by the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish or Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
