Janet Lillian Gouin Chenoweth

Janet Lillian Gouin Chenoweth, age 90, passed away on June 29, 2015, at Cambrian Assisted Living with her family by her side. She was born on April 16, 1925, in South Lyon, Mich., to Lawrence and Marguerite (Bridson) Gouin. On February 26, 1949, she married Rex Warren Chenoweth in South Lyon and they enjoyed 61 years together.Janet’s role was a devoted, loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, the Red Hats Society, Questers, Herrick Hospital Auxiliary and Tecumseh Garden Club.She is survived by her sons; Alan B. of Plymouth, Brian (Charlotte) of Tipton and Ted S. (Elizabeth) of Huntsville, Ala., daughter, Suzanne Chenoweth of Tecumseh, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, Rex Chenoweth.Visitation for Janet was held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Mich., at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time to the service.
