Janet Mae Ery

Janet Mae Ery, age 78 of Clinton, passed away on September 4, 2014 at Herrick Manor. She was born on October 4, 1935 in Shelby, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Mae (Wentz) Bowser.Janet was a Clinton resident since 1946 and was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Janet had a passion for breeding and raising rabbits. She was a life member of the American Rabbit Breeder’s Association, the Michigan State Rabbit Breeders and the State Line Rabbit Breeders. She was also a member and secretary for the Silver Martin Rabbit Club and American Satin Rabbit Breeders. Janet also was active in the Ohio and American Dutch Clubs, the California Specialty Club, and the Champagne D’Argent Federation. Janet is survived by her children Michael (Linda) Ery of Barren Plains, Tenn., and Teri (Larry Smith) Poley of Clinton, Mich.; brother James (Janice) Bowser of Rimrock, Ariz.; sister Dona Jean Farace of Orange, Calif.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A celebration of Janet’s life will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s honor to Lenawee Therapeutic Riding or to Herrick Manor. Condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
