Janice Appel Kadlub

Janice Appel Kadlub, age 59, of Dansville, Mich., went home to be with her beloved Jesus Christ on February 27, 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the devoted wife of Greg Kadlub, married in 1976, the loving mother of two daughters Jessica Harthorn and Cassidy Kadlub, and the wonderful grandmother of Lillian Harthorn. A 1972 graduate of Tecumseh High School, Jan grew up in Tecumseh. She was the daughter of the late Milton and Lillian Appel, and sister of Milton C. Appel. Throughout the years, Jan was a vital member of several local organizations. She founded the Dansville Back Yard Buds Garden Club and served on the Dansville Downtown Development Authority. Jan also spent hundreds of hours volunteering at her church and with Dansville Schools. She was a pillar in the community and even designed the logo for the Dansville water tower. Her creative hands brightened God’s world through her gardening, sewing, crafts and photography. Jan also loved to dance and took amazing trips with her husband, often on the back of their motorcycle. Jan cherished her family and countless friends. Her laughter, energy and steadfast faith in the Lord will never be forgotten. Her memorial service was Saturday, March 2 at Grace Lutheran Church in Leslie, Mich.
