Jean Bock

 

Jean Bock, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 30, 2018 at home with her loving family by her side. Jean lived in Washtenaw County all of her life. She was born on October 19, 1925 in Ypsilanti, Mich. to Carl and Ivah (Merritt) Clark and graduated from Lincoln Consolidated Schools. Jean then attended Cleary College before marrying Duane Bock on October 9, 1948. Duane and Jean enjoyed 61 years of marriage before he passed away in 2009.

Jean thoroughly enjoyed working as a bookkeeper until her retirement at 78 years old.  Over the course of her career she worked at Motor State, Argus Camera, Universal Homes for 20 years and Harper Electric for 23 years.

Jean was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Saline where she and Duane spent many wonderful times together amongst friends. She also enjoyed her monthly get-togethers with her high school classmates. Jean loved dancing, gardening, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be sorely missed by her two sons, Raymond Bock of Milan and Tim (Julie) Bock of Tipton; four grandchildren, Amber (Elijah) Million, T.J. (Amanda) Bock, Zackery Bock and Rikkell Bock (Dustin Lolley); four step-grandchildren, Jennica (Brian) Bush, Mackenzie, Jaron and Kamryn Warner; four great-grandchildren, Mason and Isaiah Million, Ella Bock and Cora Lolley; and a sister, Bonnie Hogan. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Melvin Clark.

Cremation has taken place and she will be placed next to Duane at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan. Those desiring may make contributions to Arbor Hospice.
