Jeanette H. Teegarden

Jeanette H. Teegarden, age 93, of Tecumseh, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility with her family, friends, and pastor at her side. She was born on April 26, 1919 in Clinton, Mich., the daughter of Russell and Hazel (Sprowell) O’Hara. She married Donald Teegarden on August 28, 1937 and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1985.Jeanette was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to travel with her family to Mackinac Island annually, was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and member of Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.She is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Roger) Handy and Theresa Teegarden, both of Tecumseh, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. In addition to her husband and parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and James; one daughter, Pat Papple; one brother Robert O’Hara and one sister Bernice Maxwell.At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with Pastor Brian Jones of Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.Inurnment of her cremated remains will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.Contributions may be made to the Tecumseh Missionary Baptist Church and condolences may be offered to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
