John R. Wanzeck

John R. Wanzeck, age 84 of Brea, Calif., passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013. He was born on August 1, 1928, in Ann Arbor, Mich. He was married to Sally Dolan and she preceded him in death on January 2, 1990.He enjoyed traveling, card playing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.He is survived by his children; Mike Wanzeck of Fla., Pat (Kristin) Wanzeck of Wis., Tim Wanzeck of Tecumseh, Mich., Betsy (Chuck Young) Wanzeck of Cal., Kathy McKelvey of Tecumseh, Mich., Tracy (Dina) Wanzeck of Colo., Jane Wanzeck of Tecumseh, Mich., Phil Wanzeck of Grand Rapids, Mich; seventeen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one brother Jim (Leah) Wanzeck of Ann Arbor, Mich.A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler funeral Homes from 5-8 p.m. A memorial Mmass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass.Full Military Honors will be conducted outside the church following the mass under the auspices of the Tecumseh American Legion Post No. 34 and the Tecumseh VFW Post No. 4187.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
