Karen Hyder

Karen Marie Hyder, age 74, of Tecumseh, passed away October 25, 2012 at Herrick Manor. She was born January 25, 1938 in Tecumseh, the daughter of Merrill J. and Hazel I. (Beevers) Murphy. Karen worked as a sewing machine operator at the GM Fisher Body Plant for thirty years, retiring in the mid 90s. She enjoyed making hook rugs and crocheting in her free time. She is survived by her sons Andy Hyder of Tecumseh and Alan Hyder of Bristol, Tenn.; her daughter Bobbie (Michael) Balent of Tecumseh; her sister Cora Alcock of Britton; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.Visitation was Sunday, October 28 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home from 3–5 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 29 at Brookside Cemetery with Pastor Richard Burstall of Grace United Methodist Church in Britton, officiating.
