Larry Marvin Alley

Larry Marvin Alley, 59, passed away on November 16, 2019, in his home. He was born September 15, 1960 in Bremerhaven, Germany, son of Friedeborg and Robert Alley.  Larry’s love of people and his truly giving spirit was evident in all aspects of his life. He demonstrated the Biblical admonition that “there is more happiness in giving than in receiving.” It always brought Larry joy to give gifts to others.  

Larry graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in polyurethane chemistry. He first worked at Renosol Corporation and then became a director at various plants across Asia for the Nike Shoe Corporation.  

Next he moved to Hong Kong and worked for H.B. Fuller Company. Lastly, he was employed as a consultant for other well known shoe companies.

In his spare time, Larry enjoyed his hobby of collecting trains and planes as well as loving his dog, Crystal. He is survived by his father, Robert K. Alley, of Tecumseh, Mich; his brother, Michael and wife Susan Alley, of Tecumseh; his sister, Heidi (Alley) Meschwitzer, of Adrian, Mich.; his life long and best friend, Vincent Kong, of Hong Kong, China; and his great-aunt, Marlene Dallas of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by his mother, Friedeborg Alley, of Bremerhaven, Germany; his brother-in-law, Chad Meschwitzer, of Adrian; his grandparents, Emma and Klaus Ehlers of Bremervorde, Germany, and Winnifred and Gus Alley of Hammond, Ind.  A memorial service will be held at a future date.
