Larry Michael Mauer

Larry Michael Mauer, born on February 2, 1952, passed away on March 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by family following a brief illness.

He will be greatly missed by his two sisters, Lori (Dave) Render, Wendy (Marty) Nelson, his partner, Vickie Flores and his beloved dog Blu. He is also leaving behind several nieces and nephews: Chelsea (Joe) Koengeter and great-niece Laine, Devin (Rachel) Render and great- nephews Weston and Greyson, Coyle (Sonya) Render, Cody Render, Alex, Joseph and Elizabeth Nelson. He was blessed with lifelong friendships who he considered as brothers that were actively a part of his life until his death.

His parents, Nobert and Marlene (Brockmeier) Mauer are ready to greet him with open arms as he makes his journey into his next life.

Larry loved all who knew him unconditionally and his laid-back approach to life was well deserved.

Larry graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1970 and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service as a production supervisor.  He actually appeared in a televised commercial at the beginning of the Quality First campaign — his minute of fame. Larry’s hobbies included riding his Harley, playing golf, a good card game and gardening. He loved music especially Motown, 60s rock and roll and the blues.

Cremation has already taken place. At Larry’s request, a gravesite service will be held on Friday, May 17. Gathering will begin at 1 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh. A service with military honors will begin at 2 p.m. with Christian Motorcyclists Association representative Dana Demski officiating.

Larry, we love you dearly and miss you already.
