Lavaun Mann

Lavaun Mann, age 86 of Britton, passed away on June 2, 2015, at the Evangelical Home of Saline with his family at his side. He was born on December 1, 1928, in Amboy Twp., Mich., the son of Leslie and Marie (George) Mann. Lavaun married Ramona Esterline on July 15, 1950, and she preceded him in death in 2003.Lavaun worked as a tool grinder for Tecumseh Products for over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodcarving, as well as buying and fixing lawnmowers. His greatest joys were the time that he spent with his family, and in later years moving to Florida with his dog, Smiley, but most recently in Michigan with his newfound family at the Evangelical Home in Saline. Lavaun is survived by his daughters Karen (Richard) Papworth of Britton, Linda (Dane) Pelton of Jackson and Shelley (Jose) Hufford of Britton; son in law Eric Robison of Tecumseh; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother Denzel Mann of Vermontville; and sister in laws Yolanda Lashaway of Coldwater and Larue Sackett of Edon, Ohio. Lavaun was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ramona, daughter Sharen and sister Wilma.A memorial service to celebrate Lavaun’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Bruce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery.
