Lenawee Community Foundation given permanent home

The Lenawee Community Foundation (LCF) has a new home thanks to a donation from Old National Bank — formerly United Bank & Trust. Since 2004, the LCF has been operating out of office space loaned from the bank. “We’re blessed the bank has given us this space,” said Sue Hammersmith, President and CEO of the LCF.“We have a long standing partnership with the Lenawee Community Foundation,” said Joe Williams, Regional Sales Manager and Lenawee Market President at Old National Bank. “We wanted to take care of the Community Foundation. We’re excited they get to have a permanent home. “The space is approximately 2,400 square-feet in size with a full basement. The foundation plans to begin moving from their current location at 603 North Evans Street to their new home across the street starting in January. Also moving to the Foundation’s new location is the furniture loaned from the bank, which will allow board meetings and training sessions to be held at the new building. The Foundation began in the 1950s as the Tecumseh Community Fund Foundation, focusing on becoming a true foundation in 1997. The LCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The mission of the LCF is to identify and address current and anticipated community needs, and raise, manage, and distribute funds for charitable purposes in the areas of civic, cultural, health, educational, and social services.
