Library meets the needs of all community members

To the Editor,I am a strong supporter of the Tecumseh District Library. As a lifelong community member, parent of three Tecumseh Public School students, and a kindergarten teacher in our district, I want to encourage our community to be aware of the upcoming election and the importance of voting YES on both proposals. The Tecumseh District Library offers more than just checking books out to children. The library meets the needs of all community members with services such as: story time for children with Mrs. Reasoner, teen programs, technology support, which includes public access computers with WiFi, quiet study rooms, and much more.I am so fortunate to have the district library’s own director, Gayle Hazelbaker, as my rolling reader for my kindergarten class. She has volunteered in my classroom for over five years to read to my students. Mrs. Reasoner has brought her story time to Patterson and all elementary buildings each year to share the love of reading with our students. Every summer my students can participate in a summer reading program, too. The opportunities are endless for educators, students, and all community members. Please take note that the Tecumseh District Library will be hosting an open house to celebrate 10 years of service as a district library. The date and times are: Friday, April 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Join in the fun activities and see first hand why our library is worthy of your YES vote. The location to vote is different than usual. You can vote on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Raisin Township Fire Station or Recreation Department, depending on your precinct.Proud parent, teacher and community member,Melissa HiltonTecumseh
