Linda Ruth Maupin

Linda Ruth Maupin, age 75, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at the Center on Aging and Health. Born on March 7, 1938 in Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Ruby Adkins Erwin. Until 1993, she lived in Michigan, where, in 1959 she was married to Thomas Maupin, who preceded her in death in 2001. Mrs. Maupin was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church, where she was the librarian, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School in the Ruth Class. She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star and was active in the Sweet Adelines for 30 years in Michigan and Tennessee.Linda Ruth Maupin has left behind to cherish her memories: sons: Brian Maupin and his wife Alaina of Erwin; Robert Maupin and his wife Jill of Mooresville, Ind.; Thomas Maupin of Erwin; Todd Maupin and his wife Jill of Huntsville, Texas; brother: Bill Erwin and his wife Joyce of Columbia, S.C.; sister: Mary Jane Furches and her husband Mike of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren: Bailey and Elijah Maupin; Alisha Mason, Matt and Shelbie Dolan; Cory Maupin, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Catherine Maupin; great grandchildren: Courtnee and Ramiyha Maupin, Landon Pitcock, Abel Briggs, Aria Christian, Liam DeVault, Ajaysea and Kianah Dolan; and several nieces and nephews.The family held a funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Linda Ruth Maupin at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at Ninth Street Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Moor officiating. Musical selections werte offered by the Ninth Street Choir and the Ninth Street Mixed Quartet. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family began at 1:30 p.m. and continued until service time at Ninth Street Baptist Church.
