Linda Sue Moody

Linda Sue Moody, 63, of Tecumseh, passed away March 27, 2014, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian. Linda was born Dec. 19, 1950, to Willis and Vivian Gray in Ann Arbor. She was preceded in death by her parents.Linda was retired from The Tecumseh Herald newspaper. She and her daughter, Jessica, were caregivers to Linda’s mom, until her passing in October of 2013. Linda’s last few years has tested her faith, beginning with a remarkable recovery from a brain tumor in 2012. But an illness took her life as she struggled for weeks while enduring the assistance of a ventilator and a tracheotomy.Linda was a loving, dedicated mother to her surviving children, a daughter, Jessica (Jamie) Brown of Tecumseh and a son, Jeff (Beth) Moody of Adrian. She always put her children’s happiness in front of her own. Linda was a woman of strength and courage. And she was always determined to have the last word. Her strength, perseverance and wisdom, generating from life's challenges, has been left as a legacy for her family to embrace and pass on to future generations.Growing up in Tecumseh, she graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1969. She married John Moody of Toledo on June 14, 1969, and they have continued to remain friends since their divorce. She began working at the newspaper in the 70s and worked her way up to pre-press manager. She was also an integral part in the formation of Downtown Printing. She truly loved interacting with the public and has made many friends over the years.Linda was preceded in death by her parents. Besides being survived by her daughter and son, she is also survived by her grandchildren, MacKenzie and Maxwell Brown; Michael, Timothy, Hanna, Matthew and Abigail Moody; a step-grandson; and her ex-husband, John (Carolyn) Moody.Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made by the Purse Funeral Home in Tecumseh. A memorial luncheon in her honor will be held in May. The date, time, and location will be printed in a future edition of the Tecumseh Herald.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Linda Moody, c/o Jessica Brown, 600 Cairns Street, Tecumseh, MI 49286. Monetary contributions received will be divided between medical/funeral costs and Lenawee County Department on Aging.
