Lois B. (Ehlert) Mac George

Lois B. (Ehlert) Mac George, age 92, of Tecumseh, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Britton, Mich., to Bert R. and Mabel C. (Adams) Moore. She graduated from Britton High School. She married Lorenz (Fuzz) Ehlert of Deerfield on October 28, 1939. They were blessed with five wonderful children. Lois was a member of Deerfield Methodist Church, Deerfield Mothers Club and was employed at Deerfield Hardware, Deerfield School cafeteria and Revco, Inc. in the 1950’s and 60’s. Fuzz preceded her in death on February 11, 1961. She married Wallace MacGeorge of Tecumseh on June 17, 1967 and they moved to Tecumseh, joining the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Herrick Medical Center Auxiliary and the Underwood-Orr Legion Auxiliary. Wallace preceded her in death on October 4, 1994. Lois was employed at Tecumseh Public School as a secretary, and retired in 1985. Lois served on the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Council, Social Ministry Committee and was a member of “The Clown Connection” Christian clowns group. She enjoyed her volunteer work, Hospice of Lenawee from 1985 to 2012; also at the Herrick Hospital Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.Lois is survived by one son Jerry (Cathy) Ehlert of Toldeo, Ohio., five daughters; Gail (Wesley) Maki of Tipton, Ginny (Wayne) Brown of Bradenton, Fla., Wendy Hollister of Findlay, Ohio, Sherri (Tony) Barber of Rapid City, Mich., Sandy (Mark) Henschell of Traverse City, Mich., nine grandchildren; Richard and Chad Maki, Chris and Katie Barber, Lisa (Doug) Snead, Dan (Kathy) Ehlert, Jeff (Rachael) Ehlert, Briana (Ryan) Lindahl, Sabrina (Bob) Taylor, 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy J. John of Clinton, one brother, Robert Moore of Tecumseh, numerous nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. In addition to her two loving husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Richard Ehlert, great grandson, Evan Ehlert, son-in-law, Bruce Hollister, sister Alice Exelby, two brothers, Myrlen and Leo Moore, special brothers-in-law, Kenneth John and Bill Exelby, two sisters-in-law, Marguerite MacGeorge and Ellen Spohr, and her step-mother, Minnie Moore. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service for Lois was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Tecumseh with Pastor Joyce Freund officiating. Visitation was held on Tuesday, from 3-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Anderson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church building fund or to Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at the Tecumseh Anderson Funeral Home.
