Lois Elaine Cheever

Lois Elaine Cheever, 93, of Tecumseh, Mich., died November 16, 2017, at Bixby Hospital.

Lois was born in Tecumseh on October 28, 1924, to Edwin J. and Pauline (Adams) Clark.  She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1942 and attended Cleary Business College in Ypsilanti, Mich.

On March 31, 1947, she married Russell M. Cheever at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Tecumseh.  He preceded her in death on August 13, 1977.

Over the years Lois worked at Philco in Tecumseh, was the secretary for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and was employed in the Trust Department for United Savings Bank.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Douglas) Taylor of Brooklyn, Mich.; two sons, Lee R. (Diane) Cheever of Spring Hill, Fla., and Michael A. Cheever of Tecumseh; three step-grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Dr. Lee Clark; a sister Vivian Clark Hamilton; a niece and a nephew.

There will be no visitation or services. Private burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee, or the Girls Scouts Heart of Michigan, Jackson Regional Center, 4403 Francis St., Jackson, MI  49203.

Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Hander Funeral Homes.  Condolences may be made to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
