Lonnie Edwin Stalls

Lonnie Edwin Stalls, age 93 of Tecumseh died Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at under the loving care of Cambrian Assisted Living and Hospice of Lenawee. He was born February 5, 1926 in Murray, Kentucky, the son of the late Truman and Annie Mason (Morton) Stalls. On July 3, 1948 he married Virginia Ruth Hopkins and she preceded him in death on December 5, 1987. He married Freddie Mae (Oliver) Hamilton on August 19, 1988 and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2015.

Lonnie proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Tecumseh Assembly of God Church and a member of the Tecumseh Masons. For many years he worked as a mechanic and owned Lonnie’s Automotive in Tecumseh. After retiring from his shop Lonnie and his wife Virginia traveled the country with his next business trenching for cable installation. Lonnie loved to go fishing, camping and spending time gardening.

Lonnie is survived by four sons, Larry (Peggy) Stalls of Moulton, Ala., Randy (Opal) Stalls of Albuquerque, N.M. and Jeffrey (Cindy) Stalls of Superior, Wis., Paul (Anita) Hamilton of New York City, N.Y.; four daughters, Cheryl (Dave) Gramling of Pinckney, Nancy (Nick) Hebert of Tecumseh, Barb Hamilton of Tecumseh, and Debbie (Phil) Otter of Tecumseh; a brother, OT (Shirley) Stalls of Murray, Ky., grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark (Sherry), Lori, Aaron (Amanda), Garrett (Michelle), Shawn (Amy), Brett, Heather, Kimberly, Brooklyn, Haley, Nicole (Jeff), Nicholas (Erika), Margaret (Andy), Holland, Trevor (Elizabeth) and Tanner (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Charlie, Tyler, Hannah, Abby, Carly, Alexis, Ashlynn, Teagan, Josh, Hayden, Ryan, Joshua, Jacob, Joseph, Cooper, Aubree, Makenzie, Austin, Hailey, Brady and Eliot. In addition to his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra, and grandchildren, Josh, Amy, Chad, great grandchildren, Zach, Riley and Chelsea, a brother and two sisters.

Visitation for Lonnie will be from 10 a.m. – noon on Friday, September 6 at the Tecumseh Assembly of God Church. The Funeral Service will follow at noon with Mark Bush and Michael Putman officiating.

Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh with Military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #34 and VFW Post #4187. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
