Lorraine Richter

Lorraine Richter, age 85, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Cambrian Assisted Living. She was born August 4, 1930 in Bad Axe, Mich., the daughter of the late George and Susan (Broilat) Cornett. Lorraine married Richard J. Richter on September 15, 1956 and they shared 40 years together before his death in 1996.

Lorraine was a member of St. Dominic Chapel in Clinton, St. Dominic Altar Society and the Tecumseh Little Garden Club. She enjoyed senior line dancing, and traveling with the Ollie Tour Group, where her favorite trip was to Rome visiting St. Peters Basilica in Vatican City. She also enjoyed going to sporting events to watch her grandchild Rachel play. Lorraine loved many church activities as well as playing bingo. She was a Cup minister at church and worked at the Clinton Fall Festival, was a Detroit Tigers fan and collected Michigan artifacts.

Lorraine is survived by her children; Thomas R. Richter and Susan K. (Kevin) Cornish, both of Clinton; three sister-in-law’s, Betty Cornett of Bad Axe, Mich., Carol Richter of Utica, Mich., and Muriel Shinaver of Lansing, Mich.; a granddaughter, Rachel L. Cornish of Clinton, Mich., and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Howard and two brothers, Ernest and Albert Cornett.

Funeral mass was held Monday, March 7, 2016 at St. Dominic Chapel in Clinton, Mich. Burial took place at St. Dominic Cemetery.
