Margaret “Peg” Anne Frownfelder

Margaret “Peg” Anne Frownfelder, age 87, of Tecumseh, Mich., died on May 17, 2015, at Lynwood Manor, Adrian. She was born on July 30, 1927, in Norfolk, Neb., to David and Johanna (Lang) Cossairt.On June 4, 1949, Peg married William C. Frownfelder in Adrian, Mich., and they enjoyed 46 years together. Peg retired as a registered nurse working at Bixby and Herrick hospitals for 30 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh, and Tecumseh Players Club. Peg was an avid Bridge player, loved watching the Detroit Tigers and the parachutes from her house in Tecumseh.She collected figurines of cardinals and giraffes, and at the age of 72, Peg walked down a mountain in Kentucky. But her most enjoyable thing she loved to do was spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her four children; Beth Anne (Terry) Lighthall of Tecumseh, David Frownfelder of Adrian, Margene (Scott) Dunsmore of Manchester, and John (Julie) Frownfelder of Jackson, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Marie Appleby of Omaha, Neb., sister-in-law, Lola Frownfelder, several nieces and nephews and an “adoptive” son and daughter-in-law, Doug (Joann) Spade of Adrian. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister Betty.Memorial visitation for Peg will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes from 4-8 p.m. Memorial service will be Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church of Adrian at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. until the time of the service.Memorial contributions in Peg’s honor may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Chelsea, Mich.Please view Margaret’s personal webpage at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
