Margaret Frances Service

Margaret Frances Service, age 95 of Clinton, passed away on January 29, 2015, at MagnumCare in Adrian. She was born on November 23, 1919, in Britton, Mich., the daughter of Burt and Maude (Handy) Creger. Margaret married Raymond Service on December 14, 1936, and sadly he preceded her in death on July 25, 1994.Margaret worked as a partner for many years with her husband at the Clinton Grain Company and was the bookkeeper. She enjoyed finding bargains at garage sales, doing arts and crafts, playing bingo and creating photo albums. She had a dear love for her sister, Ruth and always enjoyed traveling with her. Margaret was also known for the cards that she sent those she loved on many occasions throughout the year.Margaret is survived by her son Richard (Susan) Service of Adrian; daughter Marilyn (Terry) Bolyard of Tecumseh; sister Dorothy Graff of Kentucky; six grandchildren, Genia (Tom McMurtrie) Service, Loretta Long, Brenda Sweinhagen, Terry (Krissie) Bolyard, Laura (Jeff) Gebhardt and Betsy Service; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary Service, sister Ruth Zimmerman and brothers Dale, Leo and Claude Creger.Visitation for Margaret was held on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, from 2-6 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Gayle Ruble officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at 12 noon at the Clinton United Church of Christ for food and fellowship.
