Margie Ree Forsthoefel

Margie Ree Forsthoefel, age 80, of Tecumseh, passed away December 7, 2013 at home surrounded by her family, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.Margie was born January 6, 1933 in Hamilton, Ala., the daughter of Pink Levi and Sarah Della (Anglin) Rayburn.On June 6, 1958 she married Gregory J. Forsthoefel at St. Mary Catholic Church, Adrian, Mich.He preceded her in death November 23, 2004.Margie enjoyed reading, collecting and refinishing antiques and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, especially returning to Alabama to see family and friends. Margie was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh.Margie is survived by her children, Gregory J. Forsthoefel of Tecumseh, Anthony Forsthoefel of Lansing, Ann Forsthoefel and her husband Terence Friedman of Raleigh, N.C.; Juli (Dave) Jones of Adrian, and Vanessa Forsthoefel of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Brianna and Alyssa; three sisters, Mazie Wiginton of Hamilton, Ala., Jean Curtis of Tupelo Miss., and Nell (Ray) Scott of Spring Hill, Tenn.; and brother, RV (Pat) Rayburn of Homosassa Springs, Fla.A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Interment followed at Brookside Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.An additional visitation was held on Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh from 6-8 p.m. with a Scripture Service held at 7:30 p.m. Friends were also able to call one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh on Wednesday.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.The Forsthoefel Family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Cross, Trisha Vance, Great Lakes Caring, and all those who kept Mom in their thoughts and prayers over the past three years.
