Maria Vargas

Maria Vargas, age 79, of Tecumseh, passed away on March 4, 2018, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian.

She was born on January 17, 1939 in Big Spring, Texas, to Felix and Tela (Eluteria) Terrazas. On May 26, 1958, she married Antonio Vargas in Angola, Ind. and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2011. She worked for Ford Motor Company. Maria was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved to dance and her family brought her the most joy and happiness.

Maria is survived by her children, Maria (Michael) Kyser of Jacksonville, Fla., Deborah (Mac) Byington of Tecumseh, Estevan Vargas of Tecumseh, Antionette (Tim) Bates of Valparaiso, Ind., Ernest (Mary) Vargas of Canton; adopted daughter-in-law, Becky Terrazas of Adrian; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was loved by many nieces and nephews. Maria was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Terrazas; adopted son, Julian Terrazas; and eight siblings.

Visitation for Maria will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and a Vigil Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Good Counsel Church, Adrian with Fr. Tom Murphy presiding. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery.
