Marian D. Taylor

Marian D. Taylor, age 92 of Britton, passed away January 20, 2014. She was born in Detroit, Mich., on August 25, 1921 the daughter of Herman and Emma (Whaler) Hanawald. She married Francis Taylor on July 18, 1943. Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 25, 1996.Marian was a member of the Britton Congregational Christian Church and its women’s circle. She was a homemaker for most of her life however she worked at Vescios (Busch’s) in Tecumseh for many years until retiring in the late 1980s. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Marian loved to cook, bake, and spend time with her grandkids.Marian is survived by her sons Rodney (Michelle) Taylor of Britton and Michael (Joyce) Taylor of Tecumseh; her sister Dorothy Strahle of Disputanta, Va.; grandchildren Brandon and Justin Taylor, Emily Buday and Shana Stites; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Taylor, Grace and Abigail Buday, Ryan Dufek and Kelsey Stites. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and a sister.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Schenck of the Britton Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery.
