Marjorie Ann “Marge” Eidson

Marjorie Ann “Marge” Eidson, 82, of Tecumseh, passed away on March 9, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Lenawee. She was born on January 16, 1932 in Colfax, Ill, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Pils) Reinhart. Marge married George Eidson on June 12, 1955 and he survives.Marge was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh for 47 years, where she was active on the Church Council and in Social Ministry. She dedicated countless hours to the creation of Gloria Dei’s beautiful banners and vestments.Marge was active in the Tecumseh Service Club and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization of women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism and world understanding. Marge retired in 1988 as a beloved Home Economics Teacher at Tecumseh Junior High School. Many of her students still reside in the Tecumseh area and credit her for their sewing and cooking skills. She also taught at Pontiac Central High School, Decatur High School, West Middle School in Saginaw, and Kansas City Junior High School. Marge enjoyed sewing and cooking in her spare time, as well as summers at the beach in Frankfort, Mich. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.In addition to her husband, George, Marge is survived by her son Andrew (Julie) Eidson of Libertyville, Ill; daughter Rebecca (David) Luethy of Chesterfield, Mo.; sisters Doris Bielfeldt of Anchor, Ill., and Mary Alice Council of Sycamore, Ill.; and her grandchildren Claire Luethy attending Texas Christian University, Elise Eidson attending Purdue University, Samuel Luethy attending Tulane University and Christa Eidson attending Libertyville High School. Visitation will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gordy Peterson officiating. Visitation will also be Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee or to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
