Marlene M. Mauer

Marlene M. Mauer, age 79, of Tecumseh, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2012. She was born on June 22, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of August and Carita (Ramaker) Brockmeier. On June 23, 1951, she married Norbert Mauer and was married for 49 years. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2000.Marlene retired from Edwards Brothers in Ann Arbor in 1989. She was looking forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for years but in later years never missed a week of church service on the radio. She was a loving, caring, dedicated mother and grandmother that devoted her life to her family and those in need. Marlene had a big heart, a sensitive soul, a sense of humor, and everything she did was with a genuine passion from her heart. Since the birth of her first grandchild, Marlene thrived on the love that she gave them and her life’s fuel was renewed from the love she received from them. She loved spending time at the “library” and on the computer making her own personal cards for family and friends. Marlene is survived by three children, Larry Mauer of Tecumseh, Lori (Dave) Render of Manchester and Wendy (Marty) Nelson of Manistee, seven grandchildren; Chelsea, Devin, Coyle, and Cody Render and Alex, Joseph and Elizabeth Nelson and her special cousins.Funeral services were held Wednesday Aug. 1, 2012 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Interment followed at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.May the memories of her remain forever in your heart!
