Mary V. Shelle

Mary V. Shelle, 93, of Tipton, Mich., and formerly of Hudson, Mich., passed away, Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Herrick Manor in Tecumseh, Mich. She was born December 4, 1919, in Blissfield, Mich., the daughter of, John and Clara (Hughes) Kingsley. She married Norbert Edward Shelle on September 5, 1938, in Hudson, Mich., and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1977. Mary was a retired nurse’s aide from Thorn Hospital and graduated from Sacred Heart School Class of 1937. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all. Surviving Mary are eight daughters, Shirley (Thomas) Taylor of West Unity, Ohio, Phyllis (Edward) St. John of Richmond, Mich., Carol (Walter) Foreman of Harrison, Mich., Mary Lou Baglia and Ellen Mooney of Hudson, Mich., Marcella (Patrick) Brogan of Danville, Va., Margaret (James) Rodesiler of Addison, Mich., Virginia Campbell and Gary Lorenz of Tipton, Mich., Theresa (Sam) Stucky of Tecumseh, Mich.; four sons, John (Pamela) Shelle of East Lansing, Mich., Dennis (Denise) Shelle of Tipton, Mich., Brian (Lori) Shelle of Hudson, Mich., Joseph (Billinda) Shelle of Wylie, Texas; 49 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Nancy Shelle and Annette Withrow, grandson, Reed Withrow, granddaughter, Heather Campbell, six brothers, Robert, Lawrence, William, John, George and James Kingsley. Mass of Christian Burial for Mary was Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson with Rev. Fr. Dan Wheeler as celebrant. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation was Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated by Fr. H. Paul Ruddy.Arrangements were entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to the Fr. H.
