Maves pitches perfect three-inning game
Emily Maves recorded her first career perfect game for Tecumseh’s varsity softball team in just three innings on Wednesday, May 23, at home against Ann Arbor Huron.Tecumseh defeated the River Rats 15-0 in Game 1 and 10-0 in the nightcap.Maves (3 IP, 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, 5 K’s) improved her overall record to 13-2 with the big win. Tecumseh’s hits came from Kelsea Kaliszuk (2-3, triple, 2 RBI), Courtney LaVoy (2 RBI), Kelsey Rendell (2 RBI), Sam Diehl (double), Katie Martin (RBI), Kaileigh Burkhard (RBI), Karly Smith (RBI), McKenzie Rowe, Morgan Monahan and Kylie Hill. Kayla Kormos and Anneka Hart both had an RBI. Tecumseh also mercy ruled the ‘Rats in the nightcap with Alli Watson (4 IP, 2 hits, 3 K’s) picking up the win in the circle. Bailee Crots (1 IP, 0 hits, 2 K’s) finished the contest on relief.Tecumseh’s hits were recorded by LaVoy (2-3, double, 3 RBI), Smith (2 RBI), Burkhard (RBI), Diehl (RBI), Kaliszuk, Watson, Mattie Wright and Martin (RBI). Crots recorded an RBI.Tecumseh finished its regular season with an overall record of 30-7 (15-5 SEC). The Indians play next in districts at home on Saturday, June 2 at noon against Chelsea.
