N. James Bick

N. James Bick, 85, of Hopkinsville, Ky. died at 11:24 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at Covington’s Convalescent Center.  

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. until the service hour on Thursday.  Graveside services will be held at  2 p.m. (EST) Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio.  Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  
A native of Flint, Mich., he was born November 17, 1933 the son of the late Norman Henry Bick and Mildred Elizabeth Thom Bick. He retired as a Quality Control Engineer having worked at Johnson Controls and Venture Company.  He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army.  He attended Christian Heights United Methodist Church. 

 
Survivors include his wife, Jean L. Bick; son Andrew James (Susan Halloran) Bick of Grand Rapids, Mich.; daughters Katherine A. (Mike) Pickney of Adrian, Mich.; Sarah L. (David) Peterson of Englewood, Col.; Jennifer L. Parkes of Hopkinsville, Ky.; brother, David George (Jacqueline) Bick of Mansfield, Ohio; sister Barbara Dean Bick (David) Reuning of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandchildren Laura (Paul) West, Beth (Brian) McCary, Emily (Bradley) Horn; Adam (Marissa) Bick, Joshua (Amanda) Parkes, Jessicah Parkes, and Evan Bick; and his great-grandchildren,  Olivia McCary, Leah McCary, Colin West, and Kyle West.
